This is me.....Joanna Fair Wood, and I am the face behind the name. Photography has been my life for over 20 years and as you can tell I am an equine portrait photographer, specialising in fine art and lifestyle. Located in the heart of beautiful Buckinghamshire I am surrounded by some stunning locations and lots and lots of horses...
My home is in the quaint market town of Winslow in Buckinghamshire. I live with my husband of 7 years David and my black and white English Springer Spaniel Alfie who is ball obsessed. I also have two grown up step children and 4 step grand children under the age of 10 (yes I am rather young!!) -
I am so lucky to have lots of beautiful countryside surrounding us. Lots of National Trust places so close such as Stowe House and Claydon House. We have Whipsnade Zoo and Woburn Safari Park over the border in Bedfordshire and abundance of large equestrian venues such as Bury Farm, Addington, and Keysoe to name a few.
There are a fabulous amount of woods to take some stunning photos if you are willing to travel, the bluebell woods are gorgeous April time and Rushmere and Wendover Woods is stunning in the Autumn.
Horses have been in my life ever since I was 5 when I watched Black Beauty for the first time and fell in love. My grandmother also rented her field out to a lady with two horses and everyday I would stare at them from afar, dreaming.
From then I was hooked and rode on and off for 20 years before I finally got my dream and bought my own horse. Jack was my 16.3hh dark bay gelding, with a dribbly white heart and one white sock. The moment I rode him I knew that he was coming home with me. He was 11 when we found each other (that's us on our photoshoot)!
We spent a wonderful horsey filled five years together. Sadly he passed in very suddenly, I cherish every picture I have of him. This is one reason having these moments together makes them all the more precious I am so lucky to have got those wonderful photos of us together.
